DIAMONDS Programs
DIAMONDS - The DIAMONDS program promotes healthy choices and healthy relationships. This program focuses on establishing goals and increasing self-esteem in young ladies ages 7 through 18. Since the DIAMONDS inception in 1995, the program has received a number of awards for its encouragement of family values and making positive changes in the lives of young girls. The program also encourages community involvement by requiring monthly volunteering and community service projects.
DIAMONDS I - Consists of high school students ages 15 - 18. These young ladies meet bi-weekly and participate in a 12-month curriculum that covers dating, teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and Christian beliefs along with many other topics. Our main focus is to teach abstinence and develop self-esteem.
DIAMONDS II - This group of middle school students meets weekly, focusing on increasing their knowledge about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. The program builds life skills, and emphasizes the importance of leadership. This prepares the young ladies to move into DIAMONDS I when they get to high school.
DIAMONDETTES - The Diamondettes are the youngest of the DIAMONDS program, between the ages of 7 and 11. The groups meet weekly and participate in activities that develop character, and increase self-esteem. The curriculum consists of group discussions, role playing, creative writing, and arts.
